To Have a Passion

According to an online dictionary, passion (pas·sion; noun) means:

1. A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger.
2. a. Ardent love. b.The object of such love or desire.
3. a. Boundless enthusiasm. b. The object of such enthusiasm.
4. An abandoned display of emotion, especially of anger.

I think each of these definitions are correct. No, I’m not about to teach an English lesson, but I’d like to share my thoughts with you about having a passion.
I’ve recently been obsessed with this word for some reason. I think that I have asked every single person I’ve met in the past month, what their passion is.
Some had to think about it, some hesitated between two things, and some had no idea what I was talking about. Others wondered why I would ask such a random question, others said they loved soccer or music. But when I ask, “What is your passion?” I really mean, “What motivates you to wake up in the morning? What makes you stop what you’re doing to just go ENJOY that passion wherever it is? What makes you forget everything you’ve ever been through? What saves your life every day? What’s the one thing in your life that you would rather die than give up?”

If you think about it, really deeply, and meditate, that is PRETTY INTENSE.
If all of that counts, it might not just be soccer, it might not just be music, it might not just be The Beatles. It’s something beyond. It’s the feeling you get inside when you know every single word, every single note, every single chord, every single beat, every single DETAIL of a Beatles song. It’s that feeling you get when you just finished something you worked extremely hard on, and enjoyed it. You don’t see the time pass, you’re just into what you’re doing. It could be music, it could be soccer. It could be more.
There’s more to life than our mere hobbies. We have so much to learn from other people, and from ourselves. We have so little time.I strongly believe that every person on this Earth has at least one passion that they have found or need to find. You  need to find a passion, find your passion. What’s the point?
The point is so that you can relax, and dream. And getaway from life’s problems. Get in touch with yourself, and who you really are.Don’t think that your dream can’t become a passion, nothing’s impossible. Rather than quoting a cheesy pop singer’s lyrics (“YOLO”, “The Sky is the Limit”, “You’re a Firework”, “Never say Never”…),
I will leave you with something:
“Dreams burn, but in ashes are gold.” – Kings of Convenience (from the song ‘24-25)There are many interpretations to that part of the song, but I think it means that when you have a dream that looks like it’s fading, look in its ashes, when it breaks apart, there’s still a chance for you to fulfill it. Look for the gold in the ashes.

Find your passion. Mine is writing.
